Current Formula One driver and 2015 LeMans 24hr winner Nico Hülkenberg puts on a pair of fancy eye-tracking glasses and goes for a drive in the Force India Formula 1 car to show just what a driver can see, exactly what they are focusing on, and for how long.
Contrary to previous videos on YouTube showing the driver not able to see anything and having most of their view blocked by the steering wheel, from the drivers eye level, there is actually quite a good view of the track ahead.
What really surprised me though, was how much his focus changes and how quickly. Less than 100 milliseconds for some reactions. Absolutely amazing.
